Bring on Ski Season!

Judging by the recent heavy snowfall here in Aspen, it’s safe to say another banner winter is underway. With Aspen Snowmass’ opening day just around the corner and the holiday season on the way, I thought now was the time to mention some exciting changes here at the Nell.

HOLIDAYS ARE AROUND THE CORNER

Thanksgiving

If you’re going to be in Aspen this Thanksgiving, we’d love you to join us for a feast to remember. Element 47 will be serving a traditional All-American Thanksgiving menu, with turkey and all the gourmet trimmings, starting at 3 pm. Ajax Tavern will offer a more casual option from 6 pm – 9 pm with Thanksgiving menu items available on an a la carte basis. Reservations are recommended: Please call 970.920.4600 and ask for your restaurant of choice.

2nd Annual Tree Lighting at The Little Nell

Join us in ushering the holiday season with the 2nd annual Tree Lighting Celebration in our courtyard at The Little Nell. Complimentary hot cocoa and cookies will be provided, with carolers singing festive tunes and an appearance by Santa Claus! Join us in lighting our tree from 5 pm – 6 pm.

WINTER IS HEATING UP

Skiers and snowboarders, get ready for a season to remember. We’ve had such a positive response to our popular First Tracks program that we are introducing three new exciting Winter Adventures for our guests.

Snowcat Powder Tours

Reserve a coveted seat on our Little Nell snowcat this season as we head into the backcountry for lap after lap of untracked powder. Each Friday, the unforgettable experience is available. Just book your spot and you’ll join myself, our Director of Sales Pete Hayda, and 10 others along with 2 guides for an unforgettable day on the snow. Skiing is followed by an intimate late lunch with our element 47 cuvée wines at a wood stove-heated cabin in the heart of the Elk Mountains.

Groom the Mountain

Ever wonder how the groomers form those perfect cordoroy lines on Aspen Mountain? Now you’ll have a chance to ride shotgun inside a Prinoth “Bison 350” Snowcat as it goes to work laying down fresh corduroy, after the lifts close each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The cats offer wrap-around windows, so you’ll also be in for gorgeous sunset views over downtown Aspen. A surprise souvenir awaits…

Ski Patrol Sweep

In conjunction with Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol, here’s your chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at how they safely close down the mountain at the end of the day. This exclusive opportunity happens Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and is open to intermediate and advanced skiers and riders.

First Tracks

Back by popular demand! Every day of the week you can now sign up to be the first one down Aspen Mountain. Take the Silver Queen Gondola at 8 am to the top of the mountain, then fly down empty runs with freshly groomed corduroy under foot. Few experiences are as exhilarating! First Tracks is limited to intermediate and advanced skiers.

Reservations for these activities are strongly recommended and can be arranged with our Ski Concierge Team. Please call 970.920.615 or email skiconcierge@thelittlenell.com

ELEMENT 47 MENU UPDATES

Executive Chef Bryan Moscatello

Executive Chef Bryan Moscatello

Everything you’ve come to love about Chef Bryan Moscatello’s element 47 menus just got a little better. Our lunch and dinner winter menus will feature a stronger commitment to his rustic American alpine focus, including heartier portions and additional options for every palate. Be sure to check out some of my new favorites, like the sea trout, and roasted venison with caramelized endive, dates, tuscan kale, polenta, and biscotti. Trust me, they’re as good as they sound.

We’re also excited to introduce tableside Margaritas and Manhattans to element 47 this winter. Incorporating liquid nitrogen into the freezing process, you’ll love the velvety consistency of our handcrafted Margarita, delicately topped off with silver leaf. Our Manhattans are made with premium bourbon, handcrafted element 47 vermouth and two types of locally-sourced cocktail cherries. Cheers!

We hope you will enjoy all of the new and exciting additions to your Little Nell experience this winter season. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to Aspen and The Little Nell soon.

Warm regards,

Simon
