We are excited to share some renderings of our Montagna Remodel!
Our architects, Bentel and Bentel, have created a few images to give a bit of a visual aid as to what the space will look like. These images aren’t final, but we wanted to share the general idea with you!
The restaurant will close Sept. 10, 2012, for the renovation and will open on November 22, in time for Thanksgiving.

I’m so sad to see what’s becoming of The Nell’s design. This new restaurant design, although stylish, could be anywhere in New York or Los Angeles. It appears completely out of context. It’s not special. The Nell is really promiting heavily that it is ‘hip’ and youthful.
“Thou doth protest to much.”
Thanks for your thoughts Jeff. We hope the restaurant still conveys a sense of place that is as unique as Aspen. Hopefully the finished product will feel that way to you and all our guests? We will share your comments with the design team. All the best.
Time for a restaurant naming contest!
As a very loyal customer Year by Year for 4 weeks, wie sadly have to say: “our” Montagna is gone. But we will be there December 20th to welcome the New One and find Out if we will call it our home away frome home. But from the pics you show the new restaurant design, although hipp, could be replaced by any hipp place either iin New York , Los Angeles or Zurich. It’ USP is missing so far.
And beware us of another crowded, loud Place in Aspen with no Soul to it. Your very loyal customers Meier-Deus
Hi BMD,
We hope the new space feels welcoming and “Aspen” like. We will have a more modern look, but our same service, local food and Aspen vibe will remain. Hope to welcome you at Element 47 this winter!
