Why Aspen & The Little Nell for your wedding?

I started skiing in Aspen at Powder Pandas in 1983 at the age of three.  I took my first ride to the top of AJAX at the age of six with my mother and grandfasther leading me down the mountain.  I have been skiing on AJAX with three generations of family every since.  When Sam and I began dating, our first vacation was a February trip to Aspen.  It was a wonderful trip, complete with blue-sky powder days.  We got engaged on Upper Robinson’s at Aspen Highlands on a freezing day in December 2009.  The very next day, we met with The Little Nell to discuss the possibility of getting married at the top of Aspen Mountain.  The prospect of getting married on the Wedding Deck, overlooking Aspen Mountain and having the event catered by a Five-Star resort, was the wedding that I dreamt of since I was that six-year-old girl skiing on Aspen Mountain.

Favorite Gondola Moment…

My husband and I knew that we wanted to send our guests down the gondola with a late-night snack.  We decided on serving sliders and chips from the gondola building.  As our guests boarded the gondola, they were each given a wrapped slider and a bag of chips.  As we downloaded, we not only ate our delicious sliders & chips, but we also had the opportunity to recap our incredible wedding.  Just when it seemed as if the experience could not get any better, we reached a point on the gondola where we could see the town of Aspen, lit up in the night sky.  It was a beautiful sight, and we were thrilled that our guests were experiencing the same beauty as they left our wedding.

Most Memorable Moment…

As I walked down the aisle, under a sunny blue sky, I was so thankful to be getting married in a place that has been so special to me throughout my life.  To look out and see my groom and our families, with a backdrop of the striking Rocky Mountains, I felt so incredibly lucky.  It truly was a dream.
