Best Spots to Watch Fireworks in Aspen

There’s nothing better than watching fireworks light up the mountain on 4th of July. With Aspen Mountain right out our back door, we always have a front row seat to the colorful show. Even if you aren’t up front and center, there are plenty of spots around Aspen that offer spectacular views of the Fireworks Extravaganza over Aspen Mountain.

Ajax Tavern

Enjoy food & drinks on Ajax Tavern’s patio at the base of Aspen Mountain as you take in the bright fireworks display above you. View Ajax Tavern’s 4th of July menu.

Red Mountain

Watch the show directly across from Aspen Mountain and overlooking downtown. Take Red Mountain Road to Hunter Creek Road to reach the trailhead for Hunter Creek Trail. Don’t forget the blanket and flashlight (and champagne, of course).

Wagner Park

Or really any park in town offers ample grass space to place your blanket or lawn chairs and settle in for the show.

Smuggler Mountain

Follow the 1.5-mile trail up to Smuggler’s observation deck for a panoramic view of Aspen Mountain and town. If you don’t feel like hiking, you can still score a scenic view from Smuggler Mountain’s trailhead.

Happy 4th of July from your friends at The Little Nell!
