Special Wine Dinners at element 47

Oh have we got a winter lineup for you. Little Nell Wine Director Carlton McCoy and Food & Beverage Director Sabato Sagaria like to share spectacular wine and food, so they’ve arranged a series of special wine dinners throughout the winter season in Aspen. These meals are about exploring, learning and above all, having fun.

Truffle and Barolo Dinner

One of the greatest culinary delicacies we look forward to each year is truffle season.  Join us as we celebrate the bounty of white truffles from Alba and black truffles from Perigord combined with Barolos from great producers such as Giacomo Conterno, Bartolo Marscarello and Marcarini!  This is guaranteed to be a hedonistic evening for the true food and wine connoisseur.

Say Cheese!  with Laura Werlin

It’s not just Mac and Cheese.  Join author Laura Werlin as she shows you the versatility of cheese throughout the meal. Laura will focus on cheeses from the mountains, and Wine Director Carlton McCoy will select mountain wines from the same regions to accompany.  All attendees will receive a copy of Laura’s cook book.

An Evening with Cristom Vineyards

For the past 20 years Cristom Vineyards has been one of the pioneers in Oregon’s Willamette Valley.  Wine Director Carlton McCoy says these are some of the best pinot noir-based wines outside of Burgundy. Join us for this unique retrospective that offers insight into their famous single vineyards tasting cellar releases alongside current releases, allowing dinners a rare glimpse into the age-ability and evolution of these great wines.

In addition, it also produces a bounty of wines from lesser-known regions a little off the beaten path. Join us as Chef Robert McCormick cooks up classic regional specialties that you haven’t seen in years! These dishes will be paired with wines from some of our favorite small producers from the same regions.
