Laid Back – Gin and Juice

In recognition of Snoop Dogg’s performance at The Belly Up here in Aspen last Saturday, we thought we would share our recipe for “Gin & Juice” in his honor. Snoop  has dined with us before at Montagna, and pretty much half our staff at Montagna attended the concert last week for a little late-night fun. Sippin’ on Gin & Juice. Laid back…

Gin & Juice
• 2 oz Caprock Colorado Gin
• 3 oz Grapefruit Juice
• ¾ oz Rosemary-Infused  Simple Syrup

Fill the mixing glass with ice, gin, grapefruit juice and rosemary simple syrup.  Shake vigorously and pour into a martini glass.  Add a rosemary sprig to garnish.

Here’s how to make the rosemary simple syrup:

Ingredients:
•1 cup water
•3 Tbsp fresh or dried rosemary
•2 cups sugar
Preparation:
1. Bring water and rosemary to a boil.
2. Stir in sugar until fully dissolved.
3. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
4. Keep in the refrigerator for 3 days, then strain the rosemary.

Caprock Gin is made by Peak Spirits and is grown, fermented and distilled at the Jack Rabbit Hill Biodynamic Farm in western Colorado’s North Fork Gunnison Valley. They focus as much on growing as on distilling… believing that “great, authentic flavors start in the ground with clean, healthy growing practices.”

Enjoy,
