If you’re visiting Aspen June 16 – 19, but don’t have a pass to the FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen, you’re in luck! There is a bevy of events that don’t require a pass to attend. Here are our 10 picks for free parties, extravagant dinners and more.

THURSDAY, JUNE 16

10 pm – 1:30 am, The Champagne Party, Chair 9 at The Little Nell, Complimentary – The Nell’s apres-ski bar will open for three-nights-only this summer to host free parties. Stop by the night before the FOOD & WINE Classic officially kicks-off and enjoy champagne specials complemented by The Nell’s homemade southern-style fried chicken for $5/bucket. Entertainment by DJ Mayfly with Kat V on the electric violin.

FRIDAY, JUNE 17

  1. 7 – 9 am, FOOD & WINE Classic 5K Charity Race, Rio Grande Park, $30 – Lace up your running shoes and hit the pavement with your favorite chefs for this 3.1 mile run through Aspen! Proceeds benefit the Wholesome Wave, a national nonprofit founded by Chef Michel Nischan, that strives to increase affordable access to locally grown produce. Registration is only $30, and open to the public.

11 pm – 1:30 am, A Mexican Revolution, Chair 9 at The Little Nell, Complimentary – Come enjoy Mexican street food and hand-crafted Margaritas for this FOOD & WINE Classic fiesta, featuring a taco bar from Ajax Tavern’s Sous-Chef Gerber, and Grand Marnier & Don Julio Margaritas. $3 tacos, drink specials. Entertainment by DJ Cyn with Kat V on the electric violin.

  1. SATURDAY, JUNE 18

7 – 10 pm, Blackberry Farm’s Southern Supper, Sundeck Atop Aspen Mountain, $400 – Take in the stunning views atop Aspen Mountain as you enjoy Blackberry Farm’s take on southern classics. The farm’s artisan team will start the night off with bites from their larder kitchens and highlight cheeses, charcuterie and preserves, paired with fine wines.
