David’s Journal ~ Argentina, Day Four

The Little Nell’s Fly Fishing Adventures continue with fishing the Rio Manso River, horseback riding and an Argentine Asado (barbeque).  Truly, a beautiful location for a one-of-a-kind excursion.  It is no wonder that our Aspen Mountain Club members (even with snow in the forecast) were anxious to exchange the winter wonderland known as Aspen for Argentina!

Day Four

Today was another beautiful day, but a bit tougher for fishing; however, the fish we caught were GREAT!  We all fished beat 3 on the Rio Manso River where it empties into Lake Hess.

This involved dragging the rafts through some cane tunnels, as well as unloading the rafts in order for the guides to get them safely over some dangerous rapids using long ropes.  Julian and Javier worked hard today.

After a great streamside lunch, Rees and I fished with Julian and Kelly before heading back to the lodge to ride horses for the afternoon.

We finished the day with a great Argentine Asado ( barbeque ) and our second wine tasting.  We sampled the wines from the southern part of Argentina, both the Mendoza and Bariloche areas.

It is hard to put into words the awesome beauty of this country and the Rio Manso that we are fishing, but the pictures within these blogs should help to convey what we are experiencing.
