Biju’s Little Curry Shop Guest Chef Dinner

This winter, The Nell introduces our Guest Chef Dinner Series, enlisting talent from acclaimed restaurants across the country and even abroad for unique culinary experiences at element 47.

For the first installment, Biju’s Little Curry Shop, based in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood, will take over element 47 for a special, one-night only dinner. Chef Biju Thomas, founder and owner, will prepare a custom 3-course menu featuring authentic Indian food made from recipes inspired by his childhood upbringing in Kerala, India.

At age ten, Biju’s family moved to Colorado where he developed an interest in cycling and also eventually became a self-taught chef. His culinary inspiration stems from the food he grew up with in India and his passion for competitive cycling. Several years ago, he noticed that many cyclists and other endurance athletes relied on packaged foods for energy, and weren’t receiving enough nutrition. This promoted him to cook fresh meals for professional athletes, using only local ingredients. Biju wanted to share his energizing cuisine with his community at large, which led to the conception of The Little Curry Shop.

He also co-authored the FeedZone cookbooks along with Dr. Allen Lim, and is a co-founder of the Boulder-based hydration and nutrition company SkratchLabs.

Designed with locals in mind, The Little Curry Shop pop-up dinner is offered for an approachable 3 for $47 prix fixe. Master Sommelier Carlton McCoy will be available to suggest wine pairings, recommending Riesling and dry wines to tame the spice of Indian cuisine.
