2nd Annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Festival

Summer is FLYING by, and really the only thing keeping us from crying into our glass of rosé is that the 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Fest is happening to help us transition to fall.

On the patio of Ajax Tavern on the Monday of Labor Day Weekend (September 2), we’re throwing an all-you-can eat (and drink) blowout featuring oysters of all kinds, whole-roasted pork and lamb, cold beer and wine by the glass and live music.

Tickets are $81.19 (including tax) and are available here.

On the fence? Check out images from last year’s 1st annual festival.

Have questions about the event? Here we’ve done our best to address them:

What is on the menu?

Oysters of course.  On the half shell, Rockefeller, and other creative Island Creek Oyster hors d’oeuvres will be passed, including Baked Oysters with Garlic and Parsley, Mini Oyster Po-Boys, Island Creek Oysters with Lemongrass Veloute.

Oh, and yes there will be some delicious buffalo-style Rocky Mountain Oysters (not on the half shell) with Blue Cheese Dressing for those brave enough to try.

For those feeling more carnivorous, we will have Whole Roasted Crystal River Farms Lamb with Pita Bread, Tatziki Suace, Red Onions, Lettuce and Roasted Local Potatoes.

Whole Roasted Tenderbelly Farms Pig, served with BBQ Sauce and Roasted Corn Salsa, is not to be missed.

Will other food be available?

We will also have a Salad Station, featuring our Tavern Salad and an Heirloom Tomato Salad with Buratta, Watermelon and Pine Nuts.

What beverages will be served?

An array of wines by the glass, beers and non-alcoholic beverages will be available on an unlimited basis.

Specialty cocktails and liquor will be available for an additional cost.

Will seating be available?

There will be minimal seating inside but all and all, it will be more of a cocktail party intended for people to walk around and graze throughout the evening.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Yes. This is an adult-oriented event.  Everyone attending must be 21 years of age with a valid ID to enter.  We cannot permit any minors in the restaurant that night.  Refunds will not be given for people without IDs or under 21.

What are my parking options getting to the event?

As always, please enjoy complimentary valet parking at The Little Nell.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You must bring a printed ticket to the event, or please download the Ticketbud app for free on your ipod/ipad/android smartphone to show your ticket QR code upon arrival.

What is the refund policy?

Tickets are non refundable. If you cannot attend you are more than welcome to give your ticket to a friend but we cannot give refunds.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay?

Sure, as long as the attendee is 21 or older.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

It depends.  We have a limited number of tickets for sale, so when they are gone, they are gone.  You are better off to buy them in advance as we cannot guarantee there will be any left the day of.

What if it Rains?

Dress appropriately!  We will party rain or shine or shine so come on over, regardless of the weather!  Please dress accordingly as this event is both indoors and outdoors.
